The EPIC Board of Directors is represented by each of our doctors
groups (CarePlus Physicians (CP), Western Emergency Physicians
(WEP), Utah Emergency Specialists (UES), and Total Emergency and
Ambulatory Medicine (TEAM). Each group receives one director for
every hospital with which they have a contract.

Dr. James V. Antinori, MD
Dr. James Antinori received his medical degree at the University
of Florida College of Medicine in 1974 in the top 15% of his class.
He's a clinical instructor at the University of Utah College of
Medicine and holds several offices and appointments. Dr. James
Antinori is politically active at the local and national levels
regarding the American College of Emergency Medicine. He serves
as an Emergency Physician at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, Mountain West Medical Center
and at the Veterans Administration Medical Center

Dr. Bart Johansen, MD
Dr. Johansen serves as an Emergency Physician and is currently Medical Staff President at Jordan Valley Hospital. His lectures and research are extensive, and he has served for several years as the EMS Medical Director. He is active in sports; plays the drums, and has an interest in water sports and collecting Indian artifacts. Dr. Johansen received his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Utah College of Medicine and completed his internship and residency in Emergency Medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Dr. Mark Flammer, MD Chairman
Dr Mark Flammer currently serves as an Emergency Physician at
Pioneer Hospital and Lakeview Hospital. He attended Brigham Young
University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Chemistry. While at BYU he played the position of Quarterback
for the Cougars. He received his medical degree at the University
of Utah and did his Emergency Medicine Residency at Christ Hospital
in Oak Lawn Illinois. There he served as Chief Resident from 1986
to 1987. He also served as a Major in the United States Air Force.

Dr. Roger S. Perry, MD
Dr. Roger Perry currently serves as an Emergency Physician at
Pioneer Valley Hospital and Lakeview Hospital. Dr. Perry received
his Doctor of Medicine in 1973 at the University of Utah College
of Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah after graduating from the
University of Utah with a Ph.D. in Pharmacology. Running, skiing
and working with computer technology are some of Dr. Perry's favorite
activities.

Dr. L. Val Rollins, MD
Dr. L. Val Rollins currently serves as an Emergency Physician
at Ogden Regional Medical Center and Davis Hospital. Dr. Rollins
is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Pediatric
Life Support, and Advanced Trauma Life Support. He was educated
at Brigham Young University, and received his Doctor of Medicine
in 1992 from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt
Lake City, Utah. He enjoys skiing, soccer, piano and camping.

Dr. D. Joan Balcombe, MD Compliance Officer
Dr. Joan Balcombe received her Doctor of Medicine at the University
of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in 1980. She serves as
an Emergency Physician at Ogden Regional and Davis County Medical
Centers. Dr. Balcombe has many professional appointments including
Chief of Trauma Service at St. Benedicts Hospital in Ogden Utah,
Assistant Director for the Emergency Department at Davis Hospital
and others. She serves on many professional committees and received
many honors in medical school.

Dr. Russell S. Bradley, MD
Dr. Russell Bradley currntly services as an emergency physician
at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, VA Medical Center, and Mountain
West Medical Center. He is boarded in both Emergency and Internal
Medicine. He graduated from the University of Vermont Vollege of
Medicine in 1993 and did his residency through Allegheny University
of the Health Sciences program. In his free time he likes to travel.

Dr. Tim R. Wolfe, MD
Tim received his degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine
in Salt Lake City, Utah. He completed his emergency medicine residency
in Fresno California. He spent 10 years as a Faculty member of the
University of Utah, Division of Emergency Medicine. He currently
serves as an Emergency Physician at Jordan Valley Hospital. He and
his familylove rock climbing along with camping, skiing and many
outdoor activities.

Dr. William K. Sheffield, MD
Dr. William Sheffield currently serves as an Emergency Physician at Ogden Regional Medical Center and at Davis Hospital. He received his Doctor of Medicine in 1992 from the University of Utah after which he completed his Emergency Medicine Residency in Grand Rapids, Michigan. William has spent many years as the director of the emergency department at Ogden Regional Medical Center and has served in many administrative capacities. He and his family enjoy camping, traveling, skiing, soccer and music together. |
